Mulberry, black pepper, spicy, tri-tip marinade, a hint of charcoal with a long extractive finish. This a 15 to 20 year ager.
Grown in the mountainous York Syrah Vineyard of Fiddletown, Amador County. This vineyard is a steep & rocky lava cap west-facing slope. Extremely low yields from these highly stressed mountain vineyards produce first growth quality fruit. It is planted to six different clones of Syrah brought over from France. 2021 was a drought year producing small amounts of flavorful extractive wines. Dark small bunches and berries with good color and red fruit characteristics.
Produced in an elegant Cote Blond French style. Elegant bright red fruits enhance this well-balanced wine. Aged in French oak cooperage to develop a well-rounded wine with firmly structured tannins.
