Vineyard Notes
In the mountainous high elevation vineyards of Lake County, 2017 had heavy winter rains with no spring frost and a regular-to-late bud break. Good growth throughout the season. Harvest was a little late producing full flavorful long-aging wine.
Winemaker Notes
For the last 15 years I have been making wine for a renowned Red Hills, Lake County label. The grapes are all bio-dynamically/organically farmed at 1,700 feet in elevation. In 2017 we produced more Petite Sirah than they needed. I was so happy with the wine that I bought the extra in bulk from them and bottled it under the Griffin Society label exclusively for our wine club members.
