Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Dark color, clean and fresh with a hint of black cracked pepper, dark red cherry, dark chocolate & blackberry jam. This fleshy and varietal Barbera has a luscious center with a rich long extractive finish.
Vineyard Notes
100% from Amador County. Amador County is extremely well suited to Barbera. Barbera both buds out earlier and ripens later than Zinfandel producing grapes at lower pH with full bright varietal fruit. Amador County is rapidly becoming known as the best wine growing region in the world for Barbera.
Winemaker Notes
Grown on steep mountainous terrain in the higher elevations of the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County, California. 2021 was a drought year producing small amounts of flavorful extractive wines. Dark small bunches and berries with good color and red fruit characteristics. Amador County Barbera produces small bunches of high extraction, perfect pH and flavors to produce world class Barbera.
